Space fighters aren’t very likely, given the sheer distances involved and the lack of living space onboard for one, but also because space is very friendly to just scaling things up, that larger ship has bigger weapons, bigger sensor systems, a larger engine, it might very well turn and accelerate faster than the smaller fighter. It is very common for futuristic space fighters to look like exotic versions of modern day fighter jets.
